A delegation from WiTricity Corporation, an American technology company, visited Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province on May 22.

Wuxi Mayor Huang Qin welcomed the delegation and exchanged ideas on the development of the auto industry and internet of things (IoT) with Alex Gruzen, CEO of WiTricity Corporation.

WiTricity Corporation was founded in 2007 to commercialize a new technology for wireless electricity that had been invented and patented two years earlier by a team of physicists from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Wuxi has seen rapid development on IoT, big data and cloud computing in recent years. It became the world's first city-level Internet of Vehicle LTE-V2X (vehicle to everything) application demonstration area, and, in 2019, the LTE-V2X is expected to be applied in all areas of Wuxi.

Alex Gruzen spoke highly of the city's innovation capabilities and its role as a driving force for development. He hopes the two sides will reach a deal soon to develop the corporation's magnetic resonance wireless charging project here in Wuxi.(Source: China Daily)
