New industrial park to boost Toutunhe electronics industry
A new intelligent terminal industrial park will be established in the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe district) in cooperation with Shenzhen Benavi Electronics Co Ltd.
The ground-breaking ceremony was held on June 23, with Hao Jianmin, deputy mayor of Urumqi, announcing the commencement of the project.
With an initial cost of two billion yuan ($302.1 million), the 16-hectare industrial park is expected to produce 36 million (or suites of) mobile intelligent terminal products, valuing eight billion yuan.
A 100,000-square-meter plant will be completed by the end of the year and go into operation in the first half of 2019.
Upon completion, the project will further adjust and optimize Toutunhe's economic structure, bridge the area's development gap in electronic high-tech industries and train talented managers and technical personnel in electronic information products.
"Cooperation with Benavi Electronics will inject new life into Toutunhe's outbound development. We will spare no effort in providing a sound environment for this to happen", said Zhu Gang, secretary of the Toutunhe district committee.
Benavi Electronics is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the production of intelligent terminal devices such as smartphones and intelligent household systems and is one of the top 100 industrial design enterprises in Shenzhen.
It now has more than 200 patents and has become a large-scale national high-tech conglomerate. The company has two mobile phone brands overseas, and has exported its products to Central Asia, Russia, the Middle East and Africa.
