On July 28, Deputy Party Secretary and Governor of Shandong Province Gong Zheng presided over the executive meeting of Shandong Provincial People's Government and approved the Intellectual Property Protection and Utilization Plan during the 13th Five－Year Period in Shandong Province.

It was pointed out at the meeting that to strengthen the IP protection and application is a powerful measure to implement the innovation－driving development strategy and key to accelerating the transfer of new and old kinetic energy and promoting innovative, sustainable and leading developments. It called for deepening reforms in the field of IP, strengthening market monitoring, establishing and improving joint punishment mechanism, intensifying the promotion and comprehensively enhancing the IP management and service capabilities so as to build a powerful province with IP strengths.

After further revision and improvements, the Plan is to be issued by Shandong Provincial People's Government.
