The Shanghai IP office recently imposed one of its biggest fines in recent years to a company for using faked patent information. The office found the Guangdong-based company displayed three patent certificates in a showroom in Shanghai, but none of them belongs to the company. There were an additional two patent labels on the product packages, but one of them had expired and the other was not approved. The office confiscated the company's illegal income and fined it 45,000 yuan ($6,662).
