A patent infringement case was raised to Shanghai No.3 Intermediate People’s Court, namely the specialized intellectual property court in Shanghai, on the first working day of the New Year.

Specifically, it is a patent infringement case filed by a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Development Company against Shanghai Yinjia International Trade Co., Ltd. The plaintiff claimed the defendant manufactured, offered for sale and sold the inkjet printer cartridge, for which HP has been granted with patent protection since September 7, 2005, for the purpose of seeking profits without permission. Wherefore the plaintiff demanded judgment against defendant for stopping infringement, destroying relevant moulds, equipment and promotional materials and making a compensation of 1 million yuan.

The case is qualified to be put on file after preliminary survey.
