Shagang Group wins national industry award

Shagang Group, a private steelmaker headquartered in Zhangjiagang city, Jiangsu province, was recently ranked as a winner of the fourth China Industry Award.
As the highest honor among Chinese industrial circles, the China Industry Award is aimed at awarding companies and projects that have contributed significantly to the economic development of China. This year, the award considered 40 companies and 33 projects in participation.
Shagang Group, founded in 1975, has realized sustainable and steady development through the continuous innovation of technological, mechanical and management principles over the past decades.
The company now boasts the largest metallurgical enterprise in China, and has been on the list of the world's top 500 enterprises since 2009, ranking 314th in 2016.
Shagang has developed more than 100 high-tech products since 2001, generating an economic benefit of over three billion yuan ($436 million). Many technological milestones have been achieved, among which four were international leading-edge projects, winning 40 national patent recognitions.
