Vice President He Zhimin of SIPO visited Armenia and Georgia

Recently, at the invitation of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Armenia and National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia, vice president of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) He Zhimin paid visits to both countries. He visited the Agency in Armenia to negotiate and sign the first cooperation MoU. When visiting Georgia, he attended the international conference on Fight against IPR Infringement and Counterfeit and entered into the 2017-2018 work plan with the Center in Georgia.
He met with Garrikin elkenyon, vice minister of Department of Economic Development and Investment of Armenia. Both shared opinions in terms of strengthening bilateral IP cooperation, fully playing the promotion and guarantee role of IP to economic and trade relations. They also discussed latest updates on national IP polices in both countries.
He also met with Oman Azarne, president of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Armenia, and made in-depth exchanges in terms of latest IP work, IP strategies and policies as well as future cooperation suggestions. The MoU signed marks the formal establishment of both agencies. Additionally, He and the delegation visited the national engineering lab in Armenia and held roundtable meetings with teachers, students, IP staff and scientific personnel. They communicated with each other on IP creation, protection, transfer and management in universities.
He attended the international conference on Fight against IPR Infringement and Counterfeiting and made an opening speech. He said, "China' government pays much attention to IP protection and have been providing better IP protection for innovators as well as building better environments for scientific innovation and economic developments." China delegation made a keynote speech on practice and experience of IP protection in China and received positive feedback of other attendees.
During the conference, vice minister of Department of Economic and Physical Development in Georgia Gennady Arveladze met with He and China delegation. Both parties shared opinions on IP issues in China-Georgia free trade agreement. He also met with chair of the Center in Georgia to discuss deeply future cooperation and sign the 2017-2018 work plan.
